Between You & Me

Between You & Me is an experiential art installation. We bring people face-to-face to share differences and examine what we hold in common over a locally sourced, medicinal meal served on sculpted pottery. Between You & Me takes place on local farms where guests are disconnected from their devices and (re)connected with their full senses. We celebrate our ecosystem, landscape, agriculture, relational nature and the various communities that shape our city. Between You & Me is free to guests, allowing people from all backgrounds and viewpoints to attend. Our guests report finding healing, deepening of relationships and holistic growth through their experience.

Between You & Me Lunch, Gutierrez Hubble House and Farm, Albuquerque, NM June 8th, 2018

Lead Artist Jen DePaolo partnered with the Bernalillo County Public Art Program, Artist Lindsey Fromm, and 11 participants from the The Metropolitan Assessment and Treatment Program, providing detoxification services to Bernalillo County residents. Guests were treated to a private tour of the Historic Gutierrez Hubbel House and Farm before being served lunch. Jen crafted a four-course medicinal meal from locally sourced ingredients that accommodated dietary restrictions and preferences. Conversation prompts provided a starting point for face to face conversation across the table.

Between You & Me Dinner, Sol Harvest Farm, Albuquerque NM, July 29th 2018

Lead Artist Jen DePaolo partnered with Aimee Conlee and Ric Murphy of Sol Harvest Farm and Artist Lindsey Fromm. Jen invited the public to submit an entry form explaining a conversation they need to have with someone in their life. She carefully curated tables for two with tailored conversations prompts based on each submission. Pottery was designed to encourage interaction and collaboration across the table. The menu accommodated all dietary restrictions with a range of foods designed to promote wellbeing and sensory delight. Our collaborative team set an altar that connects guests to their spiritual and relational natures. We started and closed the event with a meditation, and we provided silent service throughout the meal.
